Our Journey of Spirit & Compassion
The Sanctuary of Living Wisdom was born from a shared knowing: that the sacred belongs to everyone. Co-founded by Sages CJ Sugita-Jackson and Gwyn Keenum, the Sanctuary emerged as a response to the pain and limitations of dogmatic religion, and as a living invitation into something deeper, freer, and more inclusive. CJ, raised in the Southern Baptist tradition, and Gwyn, shaped by the Pentecostal church, each walked away from judgment-heavy systems in search of truth that felt expansive, embodied, and real. Together, they’ve studied a wide spectrum of spiritual paths—from ancestral rites and elemental rituals to Eastern philosophy, sacred tea ceremonies, and holistic healing practices.
With a PhD in Philosophy of World Religions and certifications in Holistic Health, Nutrition, Reiki and End-of-Life Doula care, CJ brings both academic wisdom and heart-centered guidance.
Gwyn, deeply intuitive and spiritually attuned, brings profound insight and a grounded presence that nurtures community healing.
The Sanctuary of Living Wisdom is not a church. It is a sacred gathering of souls who honor the wisdom in humanity, the Earth, the ancestors, and the rich cultural foundations of all faith traditions. Here, every weekly gathering is a soul-awakening—an inspiring, non-dogmatic blend of music, mindfulness, reflection, and ritual designed to empower the individual, uplift the collective, and restore our connection to what is truly sacred.
